Qualifying Round

An eighteen-hole qualifying round will be held at the Tom's Run course at Chestnut Ridge Resort on the morning of Wednesday, May 24, for all non-exempt players.  See the list below for exemptions.  The committee reserves the right to cancel qualifying based on the number of entries.

Players entered in the qualifying round who do not advance to the championship will receive a $75 refund within two weeks of the completion of the championship.

PERFORMANCE DURING QUALIFYING ROUND - For any player who fails to return a score within twelve (12) strokes of the course rating, future entries for WPGA championships may be declined, unless the player can document he is capable of competing at the championship level.  The committee reserves the right to reject future entries in Association conducted championships from any player in this category.

Eligibility Open to all amateur golfers age 25 or older as of the first day of the championship, who reside within the jurisdiction of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association or are members of WPGA Member Clubs. Each golfer must have a USGA Handicap Index of 4.4 or lower. The starting field will be 78 contestants and the Committee reserves the right to select the most representative field. Players may submit a summary of playing record for committee review.

Late Entries The Committee reserves the right to accept late entries. Such entries may be accepted at the convenience of the Committee, and must be accompanied by a late fee of $20 prior to acceptance.
List of Conforming Golf Balls The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the United States Golf Association.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION:
Disqualification.
One Ball Rule in effect The Optional condition requiring the use of a single brand and type of ball is in effect. See page 106 of the Rules of Golf.
Other Items Entry fees include range balls, food, prizes and cart fees.
Rules of Play USGA Rules of Golf, the WPGA Local Rules card and other Local Rules distributed will govern play.
Starting Times and Information Starting times and other information will be available on the WPGA web site (http://www.wpga.org) approximately one week before the championship. If you are unable to get your time from the website, please call 412-826-2180.

The optional condition to Rule 6-3 is in effect. See Page 27 of the Rules of Golf.
Transportation Included in the entry fees, but not required. Players who walk may request a refund of the appropriate amount from the WPGA after the event.
Withdrawals Withdrawals after the groupings and starting times have been finalized will be charged a $20 service charge. Withdrawals on the day of the event will not recieve an refund.
